NBA Women Forum Marks International Women's Day 2025 with Glamour in Kano State

In commemoration of International Women's Day on March 8th, 2025, the Nigerian Bar Association Women Forum (NBAWF), led by Ms. Huwaila Muhammad alongside other national officers, celebrated the occasion in Kano State with elegance and enthusiasm.


This year's theme, "Accelerate Action: No More Waiting, No More Excuses," underscores the urgent need to advance gender equality and break down systemic barriers hindering women's progress.


The NBAWF’s celebration in Kano echoed this call, emphasizing the importance of swift, deliberate actions to promote equity and inclusion.

Key highlights of the event included:

  1. Panel Discussions: Insightful conversations on promoting gender equality within the legal profession and empowering women to assume leadership roles.

  2. Mentorship Initiatives: Launch of new mentorship programs aimed at supporting young female lawyers and fostering career growth.

  3. Advocacy for Policy Reform: Calls for the implementation of policies that protect women’s rights and ensure fair representation in the judiciary and other legal sectors.

  4. Community Engagement: Outreach programs to raise awareness on gender-based issues and encourage collective action for positive change.


Ms. Huwaila Muhammad and the NBAWF national officers reaffirmed their commitment to fostering an inclusive legal environment where women can thrive, excel, and lead. The celebration in Kano State not only honored the achievements of women but also reinforced the Forum's dedication to accelerating meaningful actions for gender equality.
